Abstract: One of the hardest aspects of poverty and inequality is undoubtedly the death of a child, however, the relationships and mechanisms through which poverty levels observed configure and determine infant's deaths have not yet been properly identified and quantified. In this way, this paper aims to analyze relationship between infant mortality and estimated food poverty,reported by CONEVAL for Chiapas municipalities at the three years in which there is information availability of municipal poverty, namely 1990, 2000 and 2010.
